Pat Angerer, born and raised in Bettendorf, Iowa, is a celebrated figure in football, renowned for both his high school and professional career. At Bettendorf High School, Angerer was a standout player, contributing to the Bulldogs' 2004 state championship victory. Known for his intensity and skill as a linebacker, he garnered attention as one of the top players in Iowa.
After high school, Angerer played for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes under Coach Kirk Ferentz. He had a stellar college career, earning First-Team All-Big Ten honors and serving as a team captain during his senior year. Angerer’s leadership and performance helped the Hawkeyes secure a victory in the 2010 Orange Bowl, further elevating his profile.
Angerer was selected in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. In the NFL, he quickly made his mark, leading the Colts in tackles during the 2011 season with 148 total tackles. He played alongside legendary quarterback Peyton Manning and contributed to the Colts’ defense during a transitional period for the team.
