***SPECIAL UPDATE***
End of an Era:  MAC goes to District football
December 20, 2013

After 27 years of MAC football, conference schools have now made the decision to switch to District football with the realigning of several former 4A schools dropping to 3A.  In the conference's statement released by Pleasant Valley athletic director D'Anne Kroemer, it said in light of Davenport Assumption, Dubuque Wahlert and Cedar Rapids Xavier's decisions to drop down to Class 3A, the district football concept was inevitable.  Bettendorf dominated the MAC and won 14 conference titles and is the only school to win three straight (1987-89) along with five other back-to-back championships.  To read the entire Quad City Times article, click HERE

Assumption seeks to drop 3A, will have ripple effect
